14 new COVID-19 cases in Nagaland; total rises to 193

With 14 new cases on Wednesday, the total number of positive cases for COVID- 19 in Nagaland has reached 193.


As per the updates by State’s Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom on Twitter, out of 14 fresh cases, 12 were reported from Mon district while Dimapur and Tuensang reported one each.

 

With this, Dimapur still has the highest number of active cases at 39, followed by Kohima and Mon at 21 each. Tuensang, which was free of active cases till June 16, also added one to its tally. Other actives cases include 8 in Peren for a State’s total of 90 as of June 17.

 

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases remained at 103 with no COVID-19 related deaths. As a result, the recovery rate fell to 53.36% on June 17, down from 57.54% on Tuesday with the new infections.

 

Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha informed during his daily briefing on COVID-19 that all the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. “As per the severity of symptoms, all the 90 active cases are asymptomatic,” he added.

 

As per the distribution of the 193 positive cases by age, there are 4 cases between 0-17 years, 182 cases between 18-44 years, 5 cases between 45-64 years and 2 cases between 65-74 years. Gender-wise, out of the total cases, 124 (64.24%) are males and while the rest 65 (35.75 %) are females.
