The 15-day Kohima Super Cup football tournament under the aegis of Kohima Town Club (KTC) will start from May 16 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
17 teams will vie for the champion trophy and the winner will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 1.80 lakh while the runner up will receive a cash reward of Rs 1.20 lakh. The semi finalists will receive Rs 30,000 each.
The inaugural function will start from 1:00 PM with Kohima Senior Superintendent of Police Kevithuto Sophie as the special guest. For the first time, individual prizes for the best coach and best referee will be introduced in the tournament.
Player of tournament will be awarded with Rs 25,000. There will also be a cash prize for most promising player, best midfielder, best defender, best keeper and highest scorer.
Highlights of the tournament will be available on popular YouTube channel Naga Manu production. Entry fee for spectators have been fixed at Rs. 50 for the round matches and quarter finals. Rs. 100 will be charged as entry fee from the semi final matches.
The 17 participating teams include New Market FC, Crimsoune Club, Highlander's FC, Secretariat United, Hurricane Boys Phesama, United 4 FC, Sechü FC Academy, IGS XI, G-Sports FC, Barak FC, Wolves XI FC(U-19), A.Yhome FC, United Brothers FC, PRO-D-OG'S FC, Magdaline FC, Naga Brothers, and Aphuyemi FC.
The tournament will conclude on May 31.
