15 returnees from Sikkim arrived in Dimapur on May 21.

DIMAPUR, MAY 24 (MExN): A total of 15 returnees from Nagaland comprising of working people, students and missionaries reached Dimapur from Gangtok on May 21. 


A press release from the NCF Gangtok informed that the returnees had to embark for the homeward journey due to financial difficulties and loss of job during the COVID-19 pandemic. 


Since the returnees were from different parts of Sikkim, most of the people had to halt a night in Gangtok, with Zubenthung Ezung providing the accommodation in his guest house. The food and other logistic arrangements were arranged by Naga Christian Fellowship, Gangtok. 


Before the journey, Avito Krose, Chairman, NCF, Gangtok briefed the returnees about the journey and the arrangements at Nagaland. Joel Apon, Pastor, NCF, Gangtok pronounced a blessing for the safe journey of the returnees.


The NCF, Gangtok meanwhile thanked the Government of Nagaland and V Kezo, Special Secretary, Finance, Government of Nagaland for assisting the stranded returnees by providing financial assistance for hiring a bus and liaison with the Government of Sikkim for necessary permits for safe return.
