A total of 27 students were conferred with their degrees during the 15th graduation ceremony of Faith Theological College held at Faith Gospel Church, Dimapur on April 30.

The graduating class of 2024 included those who had completed their Bachelors in Theology (B. Th), regular and external, Masters in Divinity and Masters in Theology. Advisor for Information and Public Relation, Soil and Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen was invited as the special guest for the event.

Rev Dr Wati Aier, Convernor of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) who was the guest speaker shared on the story of Paul the Apostle from the Bible and his transformative journey from being a non-believer to one who greatly influenced the faith. In many ways, this graduation ceremony is the beginning of a new chapter, he said.

He also explained from the book, ‘Clash of Civilization,’ by Samuel P Huntington that in the post-modernist world, societies will be shaped by people’s identity. In other words each one will assert their own belonging, he said.

Regarding Paul’s life, he explained that the one who persecuted the church made a life-turning decision when he met Christ on the road to Damascus. His identity was no longer the identity of Saul, living in the past but of Paul, a person who was encountered by Christ. Therefore we are fortunate to put on a new identity, he said.

Moreover, he challenged the new graduates to bring changes as did the first Christian groups during the persecution period. “Let us be man and women to change the world,” he declared.

Earlier the welcome address was given by Rev Dr S Gangte (founder principal) while the valedictory speech was shared by Ongli Phom (B. Th), Enga Konyak (M. Div) and Jolly O Ngullie (M. Th).
