A total of 1651 number of preventive action has been taken across the districts in Nagaland as on February 16 since the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into effect on January 18. Kohima District accounted for the bulk of the cases with 441 preventive actions taken while Dimapur was not far off with 375 cases. Phek (153), Zunheboto (148), Kiphire (106) and Wokha (105) were the other districts to touch the three figure mark with Peren (93), Mon (87), Mokokchung (66), and Tuensang (54) following. Longleng meanwhile set the trend as model district with just 23 preventive actions taken – the lowest amongst the 11 districts. The new Noklak district was not accounted for in the figures released by Nodal Officer & IGP (Range) Wabang Jamir. The figures however did not specify as to what the preventive actions specifically were.
