Kohima, December 29 (MExN): The 16th edition of the Kikruma Badminton Association (KBA) Open championship was held from December 27-28 at Indoor Stadium Kikruma village in Phek district.
A press release from the organisers informed that Chikrokhoyo Kezo, Senior PA to Minister for Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Nagaland graced the opening ceremony as guest of honour.
In his speech, he exhorted the players not to consider sports as a leisure activity but take it seriously and develop professionalism to compete to higher levels. He also stressed on the importance of keeping a strict diet to be a good sportsperson.
Kezo advised the participants to be conscious about health in order to live long and live healthily, while he also exhorts them not to indulge in substances that are toxic and deteriorates one’s health.
The programme was chaired by Asapu Puro, while invocation was said by Vebito Tunyi.
