Dimapur, October 28 (MExN): The Excise Mobile Squad duty party manning Dillai check-gate seized a truck loaded with 170 cases of liquor on October 28.
According to a press release from K Toshiho Yeptho, Superintendent of Excise and Prohibition (MS) Dimapur informed that the mobile squad led by Assistant Inspector Rukhriezetuo received specific information that a truck bearing registration number NL07AA0594 with liquor was coming towards Dillai Check-gate.
When the truck reached the said check-gate, the duty party instructed the vehicle to halt but the driver did not pay heed to the instruction of the duty party and tried to escape. After a hot pursuit, the duty party could stop the vehicle at 3rd Mile area. Upon checking the truck, the duty party detected 170 cases of liquor in the truck concealed with sand. Immediately, the driver was arrested and the truck seized along with the liquor, the release informed.
A case under relevant sections of the NLTP Act has been registered against the driver identified as Rajesh Kumar. Further investigation of the case is on, the release added.
