
Dimapur, June 29 (MExN): The National Sample Survey Office, Field Operation Division, Regional Office Kohima joined the 17th Statistics Day celebration on June 29 to mark the birth anniversary of late Professor Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, in recognition of his valuable contribution in the field of Economic Planning and Statistics.
The day was observed along with other offices under Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation themed on ‘Alignment of State Indicator Framework with National Indicator Framework for monitoring Sustainable Development Goals.’
During the occasion, the Regional Head & Director NSSO Regional Office Kohima gave a brief account on Sustainable Development Goals Monitoring Frameworks developed at the National and State level and stated National Indicator Framework and State Indicator Framework provides an appropriate direction to the decision makers and implementers of various schemes and policies.
A special presentation on NSS indicators mapped for monitoring SDGs highlighting the contributions of NSSO was delivered during the event by the Assistant Director, NSSO RO Kohima.
