
Dimapur, June 12 (MExN): The Entrepreneurs Associates (EA) on June 9 awarded 16 graduates from its Basic Entrepreneurial Skills Training (BEST) course, Wave 12 in the presence of Chiden Yaden, Director, Department of Employment, Skills and & Entrepreneurship as special guest and Zubemo Tsanglao, Deputy Director, Employment, Skills & Entrepreneurship.
According to a press release received here on Friday, the BEST courses attracted trainees who have published books, post graduates and graduates from Agri, Science, Arts and Commerce. The release stated that five of the BEST graduates won the Feast of Merit Entrepreneurship Award (FOME) winning an interest free loan of up to Rs 1 lakh to fund micro enterprises.
On the occasion, Chiden Yaden is said to have encouraged the graduates stating that Nagas must become employers and take up business seriously. He said he was inspired to see so many young people aspiring to become business persons. He further said that Nagaland is the capital of employment for many coming from ‘mainland’ India while Naga youths of about 77,000 are jobless in Nagaland. He challenged the trainees to become employers, the release stated.
Neingulie Nakhro from the EA Management Team exhorted the graduates that the times when business people were looked down upon has passed and now, educated people must take up entrepreneurship, according to the press release.
Quoting the CEO of EA Neichute Doulo, the release stated “Opportunity is not missed; it is taken by someone else. Entrepreneurs will start their lives like others wont and will end their lives like others can’t.” He further said that Nagaland’s economy is on the threshold of explosion and entrepreneurs will become drivers of the economy, it added.
Susan Angami, Advisor, Training & Incubation, EA, chaired the programme while Allan Aley and Rozila Sangtam spoke on behalf of the 18 BEST trainees sharing on their learning experiences.
The release informed that the BEST module is organic where trainees come to learn basic business skills for 45 days, in this case from April 4, 2022 to June 8, 2022 by taking practical classes on street selling, management tips, accounting, business pitch, communications, etc. The training was held at the Aloha Learning Centre in Kohima. The Wave 12 BEST clocked about Rs 2 lakh making it a reality of earning while learning, the release state.
