Wokha, April 29 (DIPR): Nagaland Minister of Education & SCERT, Yitachu, graced the opening ceremony of the 18th LSU Martyrs’ Trophy at Local Ground, Wokha. Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the LSU and the students present for taking up the challenge to remember two innocent brothers who lost their lives during a silent protest on April 14, 1977. He encouraged the students to get the best education with determination and stated that students of today are lucky to have the best teachers and having the best facilities. He also advised the gathering not to play in the spirit of the game. Earlier in the day, the Minister also visited Govt. Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Wokha and interacted with the Principal and the faculty staff. After inspecting the school infrastructure, he assured maintenance for renovation of the school acknowledging the deplorable condition on the school structure. Students from every school in town turned up to show their solidarity to the two slain martyrs. The Oath Taking and introduction of team was led by Secretary Games & Sports, LSU and the chief guest later declared the tournament open.
