19-year-old Diezenuo Chüzho, who is currently pursuing B.A in English from Baptist College Kohima was crowned Miss Kohima 2022 tonight at a glittering ceremony held at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma.

She was asked if suicide, according to her was justifiable. She had responded by stating her belief that “suicide comes from negative energy we give to those people who are in depression.” In one way, she added that “we can say that suicide is caused by ourselves. But on the other hand, we cannot justify suicide because God has created us beautifully and we need to preserve our lives.”

In the earlier question round, when asked what she felt about strongly, Chüzho said, “I am a very positive person and I believe in positive thoughts. My philosophy in life is to be always positive in life.”  She aspires to be a professor.

Likhevi Yeptho (23) and Ketou-ü Pfüsenuo (19) were adjudged the first runner-up and second runner-up respectively. Likhevi Yeptho is currently pursuing M.A in Sociology from IGNOU and aspires to be a social worker. When asked if local entrepreneurs should venture more into promoting local cuisines considering  that many domestic tourists come to taste our food, she expressed that “we can showcase our identity through our cuisines.”

Ketou-ü Pfüsenuo, who is pursuing B.A in English from Mount Olive College and aims to become an army officer, was asked what, according to her is the biggest problem our youth is facing today. To this, she said, “the biggest problem our youth are facing today is the lack of confidence and not being able to stand out in the society. I want to be a role model to all the youths who are afraid to take steps to come out and pursue their dreams.” “Let us be bold and confident”, she added.

Likhevi Yeptho also won the “Miss Perfect 10” subtitle while Miss Talented was awarded to Lhoubeitonuo Khesoh (23), Miss Multimedia to Neivozonuo Zao (22) and Miss Photogenic to Adila T Sangtam (23).

The judges for the Miss Kohima 2022 held under the theme “Inspiring Empowerment” were Mele Pucho, President, Beauty & Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN), Theja Sekhose, Fashion Designer and Thritong Sangtam, President of Meraki Entertainment. 

It may be noted that this is the 4th edition of Miss Kohima organised by Agathos Society.
