19th annual session of Pishikhu Village Students’ Union held

Dimapur, January 4 (MExN): The 19th annual session of Pishikhu Village Students’ Union was held from December 28 to 29, 2010 at Pishikhu village.
A press note stated: “In an impressive but traditional ceremony, the session started with "angu kupusu" (jumping and kicking at an object placed at the tip of the spear) followed by fashion show and "lejo le" (traditional song of praise) after the chief guest Khekivi Wotsa, Gen. Secy. Consumer Society Dimapur District unfurled the union flag. In his speech the chief guest encouraged the students to be sincere and disciplined in their studies and to be more competitive and never give up hope and
aspiration.”
It also stated that on the second day of the session the main speaker was Vikato Swu. Basing on the theme of the session "Quality Education the need of the Hour," the speaker pointed out that in this "survival of the fittest" world, only qualification without proper and real knowledge and education is worthless. He encouraged the students to sacrifice all unwanted activities for the sake of studies.
