Saptiqa FC Zunheboto and Senapati FC today won their respective matches today to enter the quarter-finals of the 19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2018 under the aegis of Angami Students’ Union.
Saptiqa FC Zunheboto defeated Kigwema Students' Union by a solitary goal. Aben scored the winner in injury time.
Saptiqa was joined by Senapati FC, which became the eighth team to enter the round of eight by defeating Khuzama Youth Organisation 3-1. Struggling in a mud-spattered field, Vareiyang of Senapati FC missed a spot-kick early, while Khuzama Youth Organisation took the lead through Viho Kin's kick from the penalty spot in the 12th minute.
The lead was though short-lived as Senapati FC came back with 2 goals in a span of 4 minutes. Imda of Senapati FC equalised in the 16th followed by Nanda in the 19th. Imda struck again in the 70th to make it 3-1.
Senapati FC will face Saptiqa FC in the quarter-finals on October 16 at 2:00 PM.
