19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy: Meriema Village Youth Organisation enters final

Meriema Village Youth Organisation today entered the finals of the ongoing 19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2018 here at Kohima Local Ground under the aegis of Angami Students Union (ASU).  

Playing the first semi-finals match, Meriema VYO registered their maiden entry into the finals by defeating Tribal Brothers of D.Khel, Kohima Village via tie break 4-3.  

Tribal Brothers dominated the match with the first goal in the 19th minute scored by Aloumei.  

Back into the second-half, Tribal Brothers continued to lead with Laiwang's second goal in the 52nd minute.  

Meriema VYO opened the account through Kekhriengulie Üsou in the 67th minute while Kevingülie Ciesotsu scored the equaliser through a header in the 71st minute.  

After the final whistle of the deadlocked match, the game proceeded with an extra time of 30 minutes wherein Vikeduolie Lhousi of Meriema VYO scored his team’s third goal in the 113th minute.  

Later in the 118th minute, Tribal Brothers found the equaliser through the boots of Shurhosül Zhotso, ultimately leading to a tie-break.  

Sinlo & Laiwang of Tribal Brothers and Vikeduolie Lhousi of Meriema VYO were cautioned with yellow cards. Keneingutuo Yaotsu of Meriema VYO was sent-off with a second yellow card.  

M Patton, Nagaland Commissioner witnessed the match as match patron.  

Meanwhile, the second semi-finals match will take place on October 18 at 1:30pm between Centurion FC and Senapati FC (Manipur).  

Neise Mechülho, Rtd. Director, LRD, Govt.of Nagaland will be the match patron.  

ASU XI beat NSF 5-2 in exhibition match

Angami Students' Union (ASU) executives defeated Naga Students' Federation (NSF) 5-2 in an exhibition match played here today.  

Avizo Lcho opened the account for ASU XI while Tseituo Mere, Meguo Ratsa, Ruoko Shunyü and Khrietuo Dahou contributed a goal each.  

Dievi Yano and Sikho Thou netted a goal each for NSF.  

Zekuseto Natso, Advocate, Notary Public and former Vice President ASU was the Match Patron.
