1st Animal health camp & dog show held in Mon

Mon, October 24 (MExN): The College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, Peren District conducted the first animal health camp and first dog show at KU Town Hall, Mon on October 22 in collaboration with the Mon District Administration, Mon Veterinary Department and 35 Assam Rifles.
The team was led by the Dean, Dr Capt G Dhanan Jaya Rao with Veterinary Specialists Dr Gunjan Das, Dr S Mukherjee, Dr Laltlankimi, Dr Sashotola Ozukum, Dr R John and Dr Tukheswar including 10 final year students.
Deputy Commissioner, Mon, K Thavaseelan made the arrangements and monitored the conduct of the programme along with the Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Gloria Ngullie and her team of Veterinary Officers - Dr Vikato Sumi, Dr Manloi Konyak, Dr Suiding Hinglak and Dr Manjam Konyak. C John Konyak, former MLA also participated in the camp.
The Dog show had 46 participants of various breeds. A total of 286 dogs, 16 cattle, 34 pigs and 84 poultry were treated in the Animal Health Camp. 164 dogs were administered Anti Rabies Vaccine. Blood and faecal tests were done for 28 dogs.
A chicken cage made from indigenous locally available materials like cycle wheel, tube and mesh designed by the College of Veterinary Sciences, Jalukie was handed over to the DC Mon for the benefit of the people of Mon.
