The first edition of the Inter-Department Sports Tournament 2023 organised under the aegis of District Planning and Development Board, Mokokchung, which started on November 23 culminated on Saturday at the Badminton stadium, Mokokchung, where the closing programme was held.
A short speech was delivered by Rahul Gurung, Commanding Officer, 12 Assam Rifles where he stated that he has not seen or known such kind of tournament ever held where different departments come together to participate. He pointed that such sports event will help strengthen the bonds amongst the different departments. While stating that such sports events are a good initiative, he encouraged the gathering to work together to bring prosperity to Mokokchung town.
The tournament report was presented by Er Imlisunep Imchen, Principal, ITI, Mokokchung, Member, Organising committee while the closing remark was given by Dr. Sentitula, IFS, DFO, Mokokchung& Member, Organizing committee.
57 Government Departments competed in five disciplines namely, Badminton, Carrom, Table Tennis, Chess and Arm wrestling. The District Executive Force (DEF) were the team champions of the first Inter-Department Sports Tournament 2023.
Bendangienla of District Forest Department was adjudged the Best player while The District Forest Department were awarded the best disciplined Department.
