The 1st Inter-High School Futsal Tournament under the aegis of The Adjustment Bureau in collaboration with Coraggio School kicked off today at Coraggio School Futsal Turf, Kohima.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, MLA of 9th Kohima Town, reminded students that while sports and extracurricular activities are important, their top priority must remain on their studies.
He emphasized that the sacrifices and investments of their parents should not go in vain.
Altogether, 33 schools registered for this tournament.
16 schools qualified for the pre-quarters which will be played on October 4.
Earlier, oath taking was administered by Kevichüto Yhoshü.
The program started with a prayer by Medovito, Associate Pastor of Lerie Baptist Church.
Organizing committee convenor Anato Sema shared the vision behind the tournament and the importance of nurturing young talents through sports.
Meanwhile, the organisers acknowledged its partners: LA Two Wheeler, AS Gadget Store, Imperial Coaching Centre, Mimi Deli, Foodwifi, Kohima Canopy, Smart Garage, Imprint, Life Sports, and Tipfü Retreat Kigwema.
It also thanked Vilelie Khamo and family, Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, Dr. Hovithal Sothu, Zhothose Kraho, Vilone Sakhrie, Vilopi Sakhrie, Viketol Sakhrie, Krodi Rhetso, Colo Mero, Vilekho Bio, Dr. Thajanuo Angelina Solo, Kekhriezhazo Solo, Art and Culture Football Club and Lerie Youth Organisation for their contributions and support towards the tournament to encourage young players.
