Aboi, July 14 (MExN): The weeklong 1st Inter School Tournament in Aboi concluded at the public ground on July 11 last. A DIPR report stated that the closing ceremony was graced by Teisovise Metha, Commandant 11 NAP (IR) Battalion, Aboi.
In his address, Metha commended the Aboi Town Students Union (ATSU) for organising the tournament and highlighted its visionary nature, providing opportunities for young individuals to develop quality sportsmanship. He emphasised the importance of discipline in all aspects of life and encouraged the participants to showcase their strengths through participation.
The tournament featured Football, Volleyball, and Marathon race (Senior & Junior category) for boys and Volleyball for girls while Badminton (Singles and Mixed Doubles) was included for both boys and girls.
In the football event, Government Higher Secondary School, Aboi emerged victorious with a 4-2 win in a penalty shootout against Longshang Memorial School, Aboi. In women’s volleyball, Government Higher Secondary School claimed the championship, with Government Middle School finishing as the runners-up. Wangka School secured the top spot in men's volleyball, followed by St John School as the runners-up.
