MH10 Kohima, Peren DVA emerges champion

MH10 Kohima (Senior) and Peren District Volleyball Association emerged the champion title of men and women category respectively of the 1st Nagaland State Open Volleyball Championship 2022, which concluded today at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
Anthony Ngully, Additional Secretary, Government of Nagaland graced the closing ceremony and gave away prize to the winners.
The championship was organized by Nagaland Volleyball Association (NVA) in collaboration with Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland.
Men category
The champion MH10 Kohima (Senior) awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 70,000 along with trophy and certificate.
Runner up Changtongya Volleyball Association received Rs. 40,000.
Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA) and MH10 Kohima (Junior) stood 3rd and 4th position and received Rs.15,000 each.
Women category
The champion Peren District Volleyball Association received a cash prize of Rs. 70,000 along with trophy and certificate.
Runner up Mystic pocketed a cash prize of Rs. 40,000.
Elite Sisters Lazami and Phusachodu United have been awarded with Rs. 15,000 each for winning 3rd and 4th place.
2nd edition in 2023
NVA president N.Jacob Yanthan informed that the 2nd edition of Nagaland State Open Volleyball Championship (Men & Women) will take place in 2023.
Ten teams (five each men & women team) from different parts of Nagaland vied for the coveted champion title in this 1st edition.
Earlier, the closing function was chaired by NVA vice president Visasielie Suohu while vote of thanks was proposed by NVA general secretary Tiameren Aier.
The championship was held under tournament directorship of Teisobou Sekhose with Yanbemo Humtsoe as chief referee and Tseibu Khusoh, Tiameren Aier and Vikheshe Sumi as members of technical and jury board.
