1st NE Strongman Strongwomen competition in Shillong on July 20

NFSA sends four competitors

DIMAPUR, JULY 17 (MExN): The first North East Strongman Strongwoman competition organized by the Meghalaya Strongman & Amateur Power Sports Association will begin in Shillong on July 20.


A press release from the organizers informed that more than 60 or more strongmen and strongwomen from the North East will show their strength and ability, power and enthusiasm at the Strongman Strongwoman Events & Competition will include Games as Car Pull, Farmers Walk, Car Dead Lift, One Arm Dumble Press, Crucifix for Men’s Events. While for Women’s Categories, it includes Events of Car Pull, Front Plate Hold, Farmers Walk, One Arm Dumble Press.


Besides main events of Strongman/Strongwoman Events, indigenous games like Cock Fight and Tug of War will be displayed and bout between School Children of different School in and around Shillong to encourage youngsters to come forward to take part in such Events in near future.


From this Shillong Chapter of 1st NE Strongman Strongwoman Events & Competition 2019, five) best athletes will be selected for the Trial Events of International Competition well known as “Arnold Series” given after the name of well known Arnold Schwarzenegger.


Strongman & strongwoman Athletes have to report at 7:00am for registration and official weighing at the Main Hall of Hotel Assembly on the July 20.


The Nagaland Strongman & Fitness Association (NSFA) has meanwhile informed that 4 four competitors will participate in the event.


In a short briefing held today at the Chisel Gymn, Jail Colony, Kohima the Association General Secretary and Head Coach of the participating team, Vechita Khesoh stated that the entire expenditure is being borne by Class-I Contractor KC Angami.


The participants include Tsuknungakum Jamir, Vizobilie Punyu, Sedevizo Keretsu & Kevilelie Pienyu. The team will be led by Vechita Khesoh as Head Coach and Ketseii Talie as the Asst. Coach.


The partaking team will leave for Shillong on July 18.
