1st All NLAS badminton tournament was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, NLA on April 23.
Kohima, April 23 (MExN): The Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat (NLAS) held its 1st All NLAS badminton tournament at the Multi-Purpose Hall, NLA on April 23. The day-long event, during which both men’s doubles and mixed doubles competitions were held, was organised by the recently formed NLA Sports Club.
A press release issued by NLA, Additional Secretary, Jenny Ndang stated that this tournament was organized to promote the spirit of sportsmanship among its staff and to help restore normal social interactions in the current environment of reduced COVID -19 incidents, bringing them and their families together on common platforms for greater interaction and camaraderie.
Formally opening the competitions NLA Commissioner and Secretary Dr P J Antony invited all Badminton enthusiasts to participate in it taking full advantage of the state-of-the-art new multi-purpose hall placed under the management of the NLAS last year by the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
The Commissioner & Secretary also exhorted the staff to take full advantage of the facilities in the Hall, located practically in their backyard, which includes within it three Badminton Courts and a top class Gym, for which a highly accomplished Trainer has been appointed recently.
