
Dimapur, October 23 (MExN): The 1st Rapid Nagaland State Chess Championship 2021 concluded on October 23 with distribution of prizes by Helie Rupreo, Former President NCA and retired Director, Agriculture Department, Nagaland. According to a press release from Mughaho Awomi (Honarary Secretary, Nagaland Chess Association), up to top ten position holders in the open category were given cash prizes along with certificates.
In the open category, Melesai Dawhuo, Salhuto Nyekha and Khrielie Sano were declared first, second and third winners respectively.
In the under-18 year category, the winners were Asile R Hau (St John’s School, Kohima), Heudigwangbe Meru (Livingstone Foundation Intl. Dimapur), Muzivolu Veswu (Westside School Dimapur), Intovi K Awomi (Holy Family Hr Sec School Kohima) and Kaboto K Awomi (Holy Family Hr Sec School Kohima).
In the wnder-14 year category, the winners were Pulonito Hesso (Coraggio School), Setsuzo Phesa-o (Chandmari Higher Sc School Kohima), Jitihto Nyekha (Westside School Dimapur), Cidibe Peter Mbung (Sainik School Punglwa Peren), and Suipoi R Hau (St John’s School Kohima).
