1st rapid Nagaland State Open Chess C’ship from September 23

The Nagaland Chess Association (NCA) is organizing the 1st Rapid Nagaland State Open Chess Championship 2021 from September 23 to 25 in Kohima.

A total prize of Rs1, 51,000 has been set for the event which will take place at NCA office at Lower Chandmari, below Government Printing Press office.

The NCA has extended invitation to all players belonging to Nagaland state (domicile/inhabited) to participate in the championship.

The players must belong to Nagaland state as per their All India Chess Federation (AICF) registration and registered with AICF for the year 2021-22, the Association informed.

Registration must be made by the respective players online at https://prs.aicf.in/entry and all players are required to have AICF ID.

The registration for the event will be closed on September 22 at 3:00 pm, the NCA informed.

The entry fee is Rs1000 for Open Category and Rs 500 for Under-18 and Under-14 years category.

NCA honorary secretary Mughaho Awomi informed that it is compulsory for all the players to fill up particulars like- Name/FIDE ID/Without FIDE ID- photo of Aadhaar card must be sent; Rating/AICF ID no/birth certificate under-14 & 18 years and 65 yrs and above/category/For non Nagas- Produce Residential proof/Office ID Card.

The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Swiss system with 11 rounds.

One player will be eligible for one prize only and players winning prizes in age group category are required to produce valid date of birth certificate issued by panchayat/municipality/corporation within one year of birth or undertaking as AICF website notification in this regard and 65 years and above are required to produce valid birth certificate/Aadhaar card/ID Card etc.
