The 1st report on Wholesale Price Index, Nagaland was released today by Akunu S. Meyase, Secretary, Economics & Statistics at Nagaland Civil Secretariat in the presence of Neidilhou Keditsu, Director, Economics & Statistics and Senior Officers of DES, Nagaland.

In her brief address, Meyase congratulated the Department for bringing out the 1st report on Wholesale price Index, Nagaland and urged the officials to continue performing better to bring out more quality and accurate data for policy intervention.

The survey on Wholesale Price Index was conducted under Support for Statistical Strengthening Scheme Sub-Scheme of Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation with an objective to provide statistics on movement of prices.

The index was constructed by using the base year 2012=100 where three groups namely, Primary Articles, Fuel & Power and Manufactured Products are estimated.

As per the survey report, the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) general index of Nagaland stood at 164.56 basis points.
