Christian Hr Sec School wins Inter-School Projects Competition
Dimapur, October 24 (MExN): The 1st Science Fest 2019 Dimapur Chapter which began on October 21 at Livingstone Foundation International concluded at the school’s auditorium on October 24 with Sanjib Kr. Sinha, Convenor, Network of Organizations for Science and Technology Communication (NOSTC), New Delhi and Dr. Kanaklata, Senior Scientist & Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Panchmahal, Gujarat as the guests of honour.
A press note received here stated that in the Inter-School Projects Competition, Christian Hr Sec School won the 1st prize for their project ‘Plastic Waste Management’; St Mary’s Montessori & Hr Sec School bagged the 2nd prize for their project ‘Hydro Power Project; while Livingstone Foundation International won the 3rd prize for their project ‘Sewage Water Treatment Plant’.
The prizes were given away by Dr. Kanaklata. The winning teams were felicitated with trophies, cash prizes and certificates. The 1st and 2nd Prize Winners are also being given a one-month free subscription worth Rs. 2500 on the BYJUS Learning APP through their mobile phones, which was declared during the programme by Swarnava Saha, Zonal Head, BYJUS.
The valedictory programme was attended by the resource persons including Dr. Subhash Chandra Samanta, Member, Executive Council, Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), Kolkata, Prof. Deepak Sharma, HOD, Science, NAS Inter College, Meerut along with Smita Sharma, Aashish Goley and Rohini Goley, all Scientific Officers from Pragati Vigyan Sanstha, Meerut along with the Chairman of LFI, Dr. Andrew Ahoto and Ani Yepthomi, President, BWWA.
Various organizations and departments who participated in the Dimapur Chapter of Science Fest 2019 were also felicitated during the programme by the Breeze Women Welfare Association.
The 1st Science Fest Kohima and Peren Chapters will continue at G. Rio School, Kohima and All Saints Hr. Sec. School, Peren till October 30.
