Our Correspondent Kohima | March 11 Altogether, 22 teams will be competing in the upcming 8th Silver Cup T20 Cricket Tournament organised by Nepali Baptist Church Kohima Youth Department on the theme "Peace and unity through cricket". The tournament will be held from March 13 to 25, 2017 at Jakhama Local Ground. The 22 teams include one each from Diphu, Assam and Shillong, Meghalaya, and 20 from Nagaland - two Dimapur, one from Wokha and 17 from Kohima. Chief Engineer of Public health Engineering Department, Er. Kevisekho Kruse and Nagaland Football Coaches Association President & AFC 'B' Licensee Roko Angami will grace the inaugural session as chief guest and guest of honour respectively on March 13 at 11:00 am. The inaugural match will have Lower Bayavü Giants taking on Silver White. The champions of the tournament will receive cash award of Rs 80,000 and runners-up Rs 40,000, both with running trophy, citations and medals. Losing semi-finalists will get Rs 5000 each. Individual prizes include Player of the Tournament - Rs 5000, Best Wicket Keeper, Highest Run Scorer and Highest Wicket taker - Rs 3000 each and Emerging Player - Rs 1000.
