 
                          
                  
Kohima, January 24 (MExN): Nagaland, along with other states in India will held first Round of Intensive Pulse Polio on Sunday, January 29. The Department of Health & Family Welfare is all geared up to administer Polio drops to over 2.3 Iakh eligible children from 0-5 years throughout the state in 2296 Polio Booths to be manned by 9184 health personnel and 459 supervisors along with vaccines and other logistics. “Special focus will be given to migrant population with an aim to prevent importation of polio cases,” informed Dr. L. Watikala, Principal Director Directorate of Health & Family Welfare in a press release.
While thanking everyone for their past cooperation, the department appeals all sections of the people, both government and non government agencies, including the security forces and police), organizations, churches and community leaders and especially parents of children below 5 years to come forward and ensure that all eligible children receive the ‘Two :Drops of Life’ (Polio Drops) on January 29.
