DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 14 (MExN): The XXIVth SRS Memorial Inter School Table Tennis Tournament concluded on Wednesday, September 14. Abhishek Jain of Kendriya Vidyalaya emerged victor in singles defeating Gokul Jain of SD Jain Higher Secondary School in a seven setter. The scores read: 11/5, 11/5, 11/5, 7/11, 4/11, 11/9 in favour of former. In doubles, the pair of J. Gurung and Rahul Jaiswal of Zakiesatuo Higher Secondary School defeated Anup Jain and Pravin Jain of SD Jain Higher Secondary School three sets to one in a five set encounter.
The score read: 11/5, 7/11, 10/12, 7/11 in favour of the Jain duo. The closing ceremony was graced by Imtirenla Jamir, Chief Executive Officer of the Dimapur Municipal Council. The tournament, this year witnessed competitors from 12 schools participating. There were 54 competitors in the fray in singles while the doubles had 32 competing pairs.
