25 active cases in Nagaland

Kohima, May 29 (MExN): The total number of active cases in Nagaland now stands at 25 with 7 testing positive for COVID-19 on May 29. All the positive persons are being kept under medical observation at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals, according to Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha. Active surveillance is going on to prevent further spreading of the infection, he stated. Till date, 1934 samples have been tested out of which results of 1346 samples were negative. 25 samples tested positive while results for 563 samples are awaited. Through the Truenat testing machines, so far a total of 63 samples have been tested and all are negative. 

 

One more test positive for COVID-19 in Tuensang
One more person from Tuensang was tested COVID-19 positive on May 29, taking the district’s tally to 5 active cases.


According to a press release from the Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant, the State Nodal Officer, IDSP, Kohima, reported that 1 person of Sao Chang College Quarantine Centre was tested positive for COVID-19. The DC informed that the person has been admitted to District COVID Hospital Tuensang and contact tracing has been initiated.


As per the latest report, the person is stated to be asymptomatic and in stable condition. The DC informed The Morung Express that contact tracing is expected to be completed in the next two or three days.


Meanwhile, updates on the other COVID-19 patients in Tuensang District Hospital could not be availed as the Medical Superintendent said he was “not authorized to speak.” The Chief Medical Officer, Tuensang was also unavailable for comments.
