25 from Nagaland awarded Teacher Innovation Award
Some of the recipient of the National Teacher Award for Zero Investment Innovative Ideas under the programme- Zero Investment Innovations for Educational Initiatives during the felicitation ceremony at Dogra Hall, IIT New Delhi held on March 1.
Kohima, March 2 (MExN): A total of 25 government teachers from Nagaland were accorded the National Teacher Award for Zero Investment Innovative Ideas under the programme- Zero Investment Innovations for Educational Initiatives (ZIIEI), an initiative of Sri Aurobindo Society and HDFC Bank under the nationwide education transformation programme ‘Rupantar’.
ZIIEI is one of the first and largest ever initiatives of India to honour those teachers who are bringing about a change at the grassroots through simple yet effective innovations to improve the quality and reach of education at zero or minimal cost.
Out of the 25 teachers selected from Nagaland, 14 awardees including Thejangulie Kirha, GMS Thekrejuma, Shyerhunle Kent, GMS Lerie Chazou, Khrieliebeinuo GMS Merhülietsa, Kekhriengulie Khezhie, GPS Tekhuba, Kedenu Esther Kiso, GPS Kidima, Chubalemla Aier, GMS Officer’s Hill, Adinuo Dzüvichü, GPS Kipfüzha Kigwema, Neilazonuo Liezietsu, GMS Merhülietsa, Viboto Khanyo, GPS R Khel Viswema, Adzüzie Kense, GMS Botsa, Theyiesanyü Kevin Sote, GHS Khonoma, Vikehietuo Victor, GHS Khonoma, R. Moala Longkumer, GMS Forest Colony, and Lilavati Kivini Kachari, GPS CWSN attended the grand felicitation ceremony at Dogra Hall, IIT New Delhi on March 1.
They were felicitated by the Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India, Ramesh Pokhriyal. The programme was also attended by the Minister of Rural Development, Government of India, Narendra Singh Tomar and Minister of State for HRD, Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre, who exhorted the teachers in 3 different sessions. Altogether 800 teachers from all over India were selected for this year’s national award. The most effective best practices chosen every year are published in Innovations Handbook Navachar Pustika and systematically scaled up to reach thousands of schools in the country.
It may be mentioned here that Sri Aurobindo Society, which was founded in 1960 by the mother of Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry India, is a global, non-profit NGO working throughout the world for individual perfection, social transformation and human unity in diversity.
