
Maligaon, October 6 (MExN): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway has apprehended 256 illegal migrants, identified as Bangladeshi and Rohingya nationals, along with 18 Indian agents during checks conducted at various stations under N.F. Railway between January and September 2024.
On September 21, an RPF team in Agartala carried out a routine inspection at the Agartala Railway Station, where they encountered 11 individuals (including four women) exhibiting suspicious behavior. Upon questioning, the individuals were unable to present valid identity documents. Further interrogation revealed that they had entered India illegally from Bangladesh and intended to travel to Mumbai and Ahmedabad by train. The individuals were subsequently handed over to the Government Railway Police in Agartala for further legal action.
