The need to name Local Area Development Programme (LADP) as Vamuzo LADP has been suggested by MLA Achumbemo Kikon and endorsed by Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) at the 25th Death Anniversary of Vamuzo, former chief minister of Nagaland at Yoruba village under Phek district.
Speaking on the occasion, Kikon informed that he had made suggestion to the state government and Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio in the recently concluded 6th session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly that the LADP be named after Vamuzo in his honour. It was his (Vamuzo) idea and concept that today LADP is adopted not only in Nagaland, but all over India including Member of Parliament (MP).
It is befitting that we name such programme after him (Vamuzo), Kikon said. He said that once the Nagaland government adopted the same, the state government must send a strong representation to Govt of India to use it all over India and name it as Vamuzo MP LADP.
