Official inaugural function on Dec 1 at Kisama

The official inaugural function of the much awaited 25th Hornbill Festival 2024 will take place on December 1 at 4:00 PM at Naga Heritage Village Kisama.

Nagaland Governor La Ganesan will be the chief host, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as host and Tourism & Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along as festival host. Medo-o Keretsii, Head GB Kohima village will be the tribal guest.

The honoured guests for the inaugural function will includes; Keiichi Ono, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to India, Javier Manuel Paulinich Velarde, ambassador, the Republic of Peru to India, Lindy Cameron, CB OBE, British High Commissioner to India, A.R. Rahman,  Padma Bhushan, Grammy & Oscar winner, Alison Barrett MBE, Country Director, India British Council Division and Minister Educational and Cultural Affairs, Andrew Gwatkin, Director of International Relations & Trade, Welsh Government, Jorgan Andrews, Deputy Chief of Mission, United States Embassy and Dr Y Kiran Kumar, chairman, Suchirindia Group of Companies & Suchirindia Foundation and Hon. Consul, Republic of Bulgaria.

The Hornbill Festival, organised annually by the Government of Nagaland, is a flagship tourism event designed to promote, preserve, and showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage. For visitors, the festival offers an immersive experience, providing a comprehensive understanding of Nagaland’s land, people, and way of life. It brings together all the elements that define the Naga identity and celebrates their unique way of living.

Beyond its cultural core, it offers a glimpse into the diversity of the North Eastern in the Seven Sisters, as well as other parts of India. Over the years, the festival has grown into a global platform, attracting partnership and collaborations from across continents, according to Nagaland Tourism department.

Indus Creed to perform at Music Festival
Trailblazers of Indian Rock- Indus Creed will be performing at the upcoming 25th edition of Toyota Hornbill Music Festival 2024 on December 6 at Main Arena, Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.

Indus Creed, India’s pioneering rock band and one of the country’s most iconic music acts known for their genre-defining sound and legendary performances, continues to inspire the evolution of rock music in India.

Originally formed in 1984 as Rock Machine before rebranding to Indus Creed in 1993, the band has been at the forefront of India’s rock revolution. Their groundbreaking fusion of Western rock influences with Indian sensibilities helped redefine the country’s music scene, earning them critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base.
