‘25yrs is a benchmark of success’

Kohima | February 26 : An age group belonging to 30-35 years represents a generation of sound reasoning, good health and fertile imagination which is also basically considered as soldiers of village, said parliamentary secretary, rural development & REPA, S. Pangnyu Phom during the silver jubilee celebration of Phel no. 12, L. Khel Kohima village today at Tsieramia Chapru. The 25th year anniversary was celebrated coinciding with Sekrenyi, (festival of Angami) where Pangnyu Phom graced the occasion as chief guest and Director Rural development, Metsubo Jamir was the guest of honour.
Congratulating Phel 12 for their achievements over the 25 years, Phom said silver jubilee celebration is a milestone recognized and acknowledged as a benchmark of success adding that it is a pride of the Pele no 12 (age group between 30-35), to gift the village community such a landmark. “Naga people will replicate your vision to promote the Naga traditional sports where such promotion and up-keeping of our traditional and culture helps in rooting deeper relationship with one another in creating awareness of ones’ traditional identity and in keeping the spirit of sportsmanship alive,” said Phom.
The chief guest was keyed up to see the see the peer group having progressive vision for the village community and the vision they share in the village, stating that it will be a touchstone of excellence.
He urged the officers of L. Khel, intellectuals and leaders of Phel no 12 to keep the legacy of great work so that potentiality will follow their footprint, “What you do today will be reflected in the history of L. Khel, Kohima village.” Phom stated that time is perfect for Phel 12 to sanctify oneself to attain higher and brighter vision for the village community and urged the young people to work towards the grandeur and goodness of human relationship on “this” significant day.
Earlier the chief guest unveiled 18 monoliths. The programme was marked by traditional songs presented by Ruokuo Suokhrie and friends while head GB, Kohima village, Neivose Dzüvichü delivered elders blessings, also Kethosituo Mepfhüo delivered presidential address. Dzüvinguzo Mepfhüo chaired the function. The celebration was followed by open Naga wrestling championship that was formally declared open by Metsubo Jamir. Officials of Rural development, L. Khel officers, various students union, and village elders were among the host of guest at the silver jubilee celebration.
