Jakhama Village, situated about 16 Kms away from the state capital, is working towards becoming an organic village, a cleaner village; the village has also been promoting Naga cultures and traditions while at the same time protecting the environment. It has also continually banned the sale of liquor within the village jurisdiction.
The programme will get underway from 10 a.m. and will be marked by folksong (HOHE) competition where the eight khels, divided into four groups, will compete. In this regard, the Jakhama Village Council has requested all its villagers, far and near, to attend the Village Day.
