Imphal, August 20 (NNN): The 27th Manipuri Language Day was held at Maharaj Chandrakirti Auditorium, Palace Compound in Imphal. “I appreciate the 13 committees who are working under a single roof to celebrate the Manipuri Language Day and influenced by the common theme to take the State forward with a sense of unity,” Revenue, CAF& PD Minister Karam Shyam expressed while delivering his chief guest speech today. He maintained that right use of language and good words play a major role in winning hearts during adolescence and convincing the public even in politics. Referring to developed nations like China, Japan, Germany and France, Minister Shyam said he observed their civilians enjoying a sense of pride and identity using their native language more in public. All bundles of emotions whether-joy or sorrow, love-hatred, anger or jealousy can be expressed by using proper choice of words from the total set of language, he stated. Pointing out that more finance is needed in the budget for language development, he said that the Government should try to fill the gap it has with the masses in connection with the issue. Prof. Nahakpam Aruna Devi, Lamabam Biramani Singh, L Upendra Aharma and Prof. Kangjam Ibohal were the resource persons of the event.
