The 27th NWA (Nagaland Wrestling Association) Championship and Ist Under 16 Naga Wrestling have been rescheduled to March 10 to 11 at Khuochiezie, Kohima Local Ground.


This was announced by NWA president Neivikuolie Khatsu and general secretary Vekhozo at the hurriedly-called press conference here today.


Altogether, 54 wrestlers under senior category and 36 wrestlers under 16 from Angami, Chakhesang and Zeliang tribe will vie for the coveted champion title.


Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has confirmed his presence as special guest at the meet, which will commence from 9:30 onwards.


The senior category will take place on March 10 and junior category on the next day.


The Champion in senior category will carry a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakh along with additional Rs.30,000 and Late Velahu Puro Memorial Trophy.


The 2nd, 3rd and 4th position will carry a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh, Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 80,000 respectively.


Quarter finalists will get Rs. 10,000 each. Rs. 3000 as incentive will also be given to all the participants in senior category.


The champion Under 16 category be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 while 2nd, 3rd and 4th place will receive Rs. 30,000, Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 15,000 respectively.


The quarter finalists will get Scholarship of Rs.1000 per month for a year.


This scholarship has been introduced by NWA to support the junior wrestlers in the academic as well as sports field.
In term entry ticket, Donors have been enhanced to Rs. 3000 from Rs. 2000.


Chair ticket will be made in two categories; First row at Rs. 1000 and the subsequent row at Rs. 500.


Gallery ticket will remain un-change at Rs. 100.


Tickets will be valid for both days.
