29th session of Jakhama Village Day celebrated

Jakhama, January 16 (MExN): The 29th session of Jakhama Village Day was celebrated at Jakhama Local Ground on January 16. Retired senior Entomologist, Ketholeho Kulnu was the main speaker during the occasion.
Kulnu speaking on the occasion said, “Jakhama village is blessed with rich forest, birds and animals and by God’s grace the village has progressed in many ways.” He urged the gathering to preserve and practice the good values and tradition of their forefathers.


While acknowledging the opportunities provided by the educational institutions in Jakhama, not only for the students but also the village economy, Kulnu said the village should provide security, facilities and a student friendly environment. With tourists visiting Dzükou valley, Hornbill festival and NH-29 passing through Jakhama, Kulnu said that Jakha town has the potential to become a ‘utility service’ town.


During the occasion he also exhorted the village leaders to be honest and sincere in their role, in line with the Village Council motto- ‘Truth and Victory,’ as the development of a village depends a lot on them.


A DIPR report stated that Zhokhovi Kulnu, Governor’s Best Teacher award winner, Ane Khieya EAC, NPSC 2018, Rokosetuo Tetso EAC, NPSC 2018, Vimetsul Tase, Gold medalist 33rd Kings Cup championship at Korat Thailand and Visakhonuo Kulnu HSSLC top number 4, were felicitated on Jakhama Day.


The invocation was pronounced by Rev. Zapovil Sophie, welcome address by Jakhama Village Chairman, Dr. Nolesel Zhotso. Special song was performed by Kezhokhoto Savi and folk songs were performed by the eight Khels of Jakhama village.
