Dimapur, December 2 (MExN): The three-day 2nd Biennial Youth Conference of Association of Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland (AGBCN) hosted by Gorkha Baptist Church, Full Nagarajan, Dimapur was held at AGBCN mission centre Singrijan from November 27 to 29.
According to a press release from the Nepali Christian Platform media team, the conference was held under the theme ‘Rooted & Growing in Christ (Colossians 2:7),’ while maintaining full SOPs as per government guidelines.
The conference was organized with a focus to inspire, enrich, and motivate the Christian Gorkha youths under AGBCN both spiritually and physically, with conference speakers Rev K Santabir Rai, Executive Secretary of AGBCN, Hari Magar, Church and Mission Secretary AGBCN, Norbu Lama, Finance Secretary of AGBCN and Samuel Chettri of Nagamese Baptist Fellowship, Chümoukedima village, exhorting the gathering on the conference theme.
The conference included praise and worship leaded by Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima and Gorkha Baptist Church Mon Town, competition like Battle of Bands, Culture dance Competition and Secretary Report Competition.
Performance by The Chronicles Band, the only Gorkha gospel band from Dimapur was also included in entertainment programme, the release stated.
Youth Secretary of AGBCN Shishir Lama encouraged the youths to stand firm in their commitment until the next youth conference in 2022.
As part of the event, the Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima grabbed the Champion at Battle of Band prize, Gorkha Baptist Church Diphupar were declared Champion of the Cultural Dance Competition, Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima grabbed first position in Secretary Report while Best Discipline was grabbed by Gorkha Baptist Fellowship Piphema. The overall champion was grabbed by Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima for the second consecutive year.
