Kohima, January 13 (MExN): The 2nd Chizami Cup 2011 will commence from April 8 – 16 at Chizami under the aegis of Life Sports ((a Life Ministries initiative to transform the Youth and Sports through Christ). Chizami Cup is an initiative of Life Sports to transform the rural youth and develop football in rural areas. It is now a major tournament in Nagaland. It is an open tournament.
The 1st edition was held from April 5–10, 2010 at Chizami under Phek District where around 600 footballers participated representing 24 teams. Chizami is 88 Kms away from Kohima. Entry forms may be collected and submitted at the following contact points: 1. Life Enterprises, Chizami. 2. Sports World, Taxi Stand, Kohima. 3. Star Sports, BOC, Kohima. The total prize money stands at Rs 1.84 Lakhs.
The winner will fetch Rs. 1 lakh alongwith running trophy and medals while the runners up will pocket Rs. 60,000.
Other prize money includes; Losers of Semi Finals-Rs 5000 x 2 Teams = ` 10,000, losers of Quarter Finals - 1000 x 4 Teams = ` 4000, Golden Gloves- Rs. 2500/- and Medal, Golden Boot- Rs. 2500/- and Medal, Golden Ball – Rs. 2500/- and medal and Most Promising Player- Rs. 2500/- and medal.
