Communities of 13 villages in Nagaland competed in designing infrastructure requirement in respective villages.

Dimapur, December 28 (MExN): The communities of 13 villages in Nagaland vis-à-vis Old Beisumpui, Old Helipong, New Helipong, Sotokur, Y Anner, Kiusowongto, Chassir, Hakchang, Maksha, Kejok, Chingmei, New Chingmei, and Waoshu village competed in designing infrastructure requirement in respective villages. These villages are from Tuensang, Shamator and Peren districts.
According to a press release, the infrastructure requirements, as proposed by the competitors, comprised of Village tourist guest house, solar lighting, women community hall, village road, marketing shed, water facility, rain water harvesting, village footpath, village sports stadium, private school infrastructure, village museum, village emporium, Village multi utility centre, agri link road, agri multi utility centre, etc.
This second contest is part of the project “Forest and Biodiversity Management in the Himalaya, Nagaland” funded by the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW (German Development Bank) implemented by Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development (NEPED).
The second contest was conducted with the theme “Infrastructure for Nature Conservation”, where all sections of the village participated. In the contest, top 5 were selected in each village and were given cash award with certificates. The best concept among the top 5 is declared winner and this will be implemented in the village, financed by KfW.
