2nd Inter-department badminton tournament Kohima 2022 concludes

The 2nd Inter-Department Badminton Tournament Kohima 2022, under the aegis of Inter- Department Badminton Club Kohima, was held between, July 22 to 23 at Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Multi-purpose Hall, Kohima.

The tournament witnessed a total of 98 teams representing 31 different governmental departments from Kohima in four categories of Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles and 50+ Legislators, Retirees), according to Shanavas C, Convenor, Inter Department Badminton Club Kohima.

The winners received a cash prize of Rs 15,000 while the runners up were awarded with Rs 10,000 in each category.
The oldest participant in the tournament was Bendang Jamir (77 years), who had also represented India at the World Veterans Badminton Championship, Turkey in the past.

The closing ceremony was graced by MLA Y Vikheho Swu who also represented the Legislator’s Team along with MLA Eshak Konyak.

During the inaugural programme, Nagaland’s higher education & tribal affairs minister Temjen Imna Along graced the occasion as special guest on July 22.

Winner-Manoj Kumar & Uma Tamang (PHQ)
Runner up- Debahuti Lahon & A P Chophy (AG)

Winner- I. Temjen Ao & N. Wati
Runner up- Bendang Jamir & Pelezotuo Miachieo
