The 2nd Inter-Ward Men’s Football & Women’s Volleyball League cum 6th Lt. Neikhrope Ritse Trophy concluded on November 18 at Pfutsero in Phek district. It was organized by Pfütsero Town Youth Organization (PTYO) at Pfütsero Sports Complex.
Gracing the closing ceremony, Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) president Nezosa Tetseo, emphasized that to be a good sports person, discipline coupled with dedication is essential.
He inspired the players to dream big, excel at higher levels, and aspire to play at the bigger platforms.
Tetseo also challenged the athletes to have a clear roadmap, play for livelihood, professionalize their skills, while he highlighted the vast opportunities in the sports industry.
He informed that the state government and the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) are prioritizing sports to tap the potential of the youth. Tetseo gave away prizes to the winners.
In men’s football finals, PWD defeated Menyitsuda 3-1 to lift the running trophy. In women’s volleyball finals, Mission defeated Tese in three straight sets. The closing programme was led by Rukuzo Ruho, Lecturer, Baptist Theological College while vote of thanks was proposed by Küvelüyi Chuzho.
