KOHIMA, JULY 8 (MExN): The 2nd NAP Battalion Alichen conducted a scientific bee keeping training for the personnel and families of 2nd NAP Battalion on July 8.

The training was organized by Unit family welfare of 2nd NAP Battalion in collaboration with Nagaland Bee keeping and Honey Mission (NBHM).

Vekhosa Chakhesang, Commandant 2nd NAP Battalion Alichen said the main objective of the training is to impart scientific knowledge and expertise to the family members of the Unit so as to give opportunities for generating additional source of income. He thanked Sentiwapang, Addl Secy, Agri and Team Leader, NBHM for making the training possible.

Resource persons for the training included T Chuba Longkumer, Para Apiarist, Temjenchuba Kichu, TM, NBHM and Francis Kikon TM, NBHM. 

They talked on scientific knowledge and bee keeping, honey extraction, management and post harvest.

Different methods of bee keeping and technical aspects of tools were imparted to the trainees.

Many supporting materials and equipments were also provided to the Unit. The training programme concluded with closing remark by Kaino, Deputy Commandant, 2nd NAP Battalion Alichen.
