Kohima, February 18 (MExN): Chief Medical Officer, Kohima, Dr. Avino Metha has informed that the 2nd Phase of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) for all children upto 5 years will be held on February 21 and followed by house to house visit on February 22 and 23. All parents, community leaders, women representative, youth representative, church leaders of all villages and colonies under Kohima district are to mobilize children to avail polio vaccine at the nearest polio booth. Meanwhile, Dimapur Chief Medical Officer, Dr. MA Wati has also informed that the second round of ‘IPPI’ Polio Sunday will be held on February 21 in Dimapur District. All parents are request to bring their Children aged 0-5 years to the nearest Polio Booth in their locality for Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) starting from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Department would also appeal to all concerned citizens to mobilize children to avail the Polio Drops. The department also acknowledged the constant support and co-operation from your esteemed daily and appeals once again for your full co-operation and support for successful implementation of the programme.
