Kohima, April 1 (MExN): The Nagaland Directorate of Health and Family Welfare has informed that the state along with the rest of the country will observe the 2nd round of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) on Sunday, April 2. A press release informing this stated that the Department was all geared up to administer Polio drops to over 2,29,587 eligible children from 0-5 years throughout the state in 2296 Polio Booths to be manned by 9184 health personnel and 459 supervisors along with vaccines and other logistics. Special focus will be given to migrant population with an aim to prevent importation of Polio cases, the H&FW informed. In this regard, the Department has appealed to all sections of society, agencies (government and non-government including security forces), organizations, churches, community leaders and especially parents of children below 5 years to come forward and ensure all eligible children receive the “Two drops of Life”.
