3 injured in Imphal blast

Newmai News Network Imphal | July 17 Three persons were injured in an explosion in Imphal today. Reports said that the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded around 10:40 am at Khurai Ahongei in Imphal East district. Police have no clue as to who could be behind the blast.   According to reports received, the IED was a remote controlled one. When a team of police from Imphal East district led by Superintendent of Police Kabib K, a team of forensic science, a bomb disposal squad and some officials from the 6thAssam Rifles reached the explosion site, they found a remote controlled device near a drainage located some 70 metres away from the blast site. Reports said the IED was planted near an old car which was no longer used. The old car was ripped apart by the impact of the blast while a Nano car was damaged partially.   All the injured were treated at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS).
