New Delhi, August 14 (MExN): Three Police Officers from Nagaland were among 954 Central and State police personnel selected from 'Police Medals' on the occasion of Independence Day, 2023. Another two from Nagaland Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) also received Fire Service Medals.
Of the three, T Tsenpemo Kikon, Assistant Commandant Chümoukedima received the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, while Yanrenthung Ngullie, Commandant Phek and Sonia Singh, Special Secretary were awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PM).
A press release from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs informed that on the occasion, out of the 954 personnel, President’s Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG) has been awarded to 1 CRPF personnel while 229 were awarded Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG). A total of 82personnel were conferred President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM) while 642 got Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PM).
Meanwhile, B Bangdan Phom, Inspector and Weshelo Fireman of Nagaland Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) were among the 53 personnel awarded Fire Service Medals.
In addition, 48 personnel/volunteers are also awarded Home Guards & Civil Defence Medals on the occasion of the Independence Day, 2023, informed the MHA.
