Dimapur, October 3 (MExN): 30 schools from Dimapur participated in the Lions International’s Inter-School Annual Peace-Poster Contest under the theme ‘Kindness matters’at Lions Centre October 2.
Three students from each school in the age group 11 to 13 years participated in the event. The contest was jointly organized by Lions Club of Dimapur and Lions Club of Dimapur Blue Vanda, Chairman, 31st Annual Peace-Poster Contest, Lion Sandip Jain informed in a press release.
Lion Manoj Chhabra, President, Lions Club of Dimapur welcomed the guests and participants. One minute silence was observed for world peace on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The 86 participants’ entries will be sent for judging. The best three entries for local awards will pocket a cash award of Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1000 respectively on October 28 on the occasion of Lions Deepawali Mela at Lions Centre, Midland.
The winning entries will be forwarded for further more 3-level contests in the Lions’ district, multiple-district and international level competition.
