KOHIMA, MAY 22 (MExN): Kohima Police on May 21 arrested one person in possession of a large quantity of ganja. A press note from Kohima police informed that they had received information that some vehicle were plying along the NH-29, ferrying suspected contraband ganja. Kohima patrol party intercepted two vehicles, one Bolero- Invader (silver Colour) and one Gypsy bearing (White colour). On being stopped the said vehicles sped away. Police stated that after a pursuit for some distance, the two vehicles were recovered. However, all the occupants fled, abandoning the vehicles.
The police party managed to apprehend one person, identified as Robinson Poumai (21). On checking the vehicles, thirty bags of suspected contraband ganja, which weighed approximately 300 Kilograms, were recovered from the vehicles. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at Khuzama police Station for further investigation.
